Altar Servers
Our Lady of the Lake Altar Server opportunities are open to girls and boys in 4th grade through 12th grade. Our mission aims to impart the meaning of the Mass to volunteer servers to allow them growth in their faith, service and reverence for the Mass.

Altar Society
All female parishioners are welcome to join the Altar Society. The Primary purpose is to support the priests of the parish in caring for the sanctuary and sacristy of the church, to encourage others to have an interest in church work and to help in any way, spiritually or materially, in promoting the welfare of the parish. ALTAR SOCIETY RESOURCES -
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy CommunionThe Archdiocese of New Orleans offers training for those individuals interested in serving their parish with the distribution of Holy Communion. All Extraordinary Ministers must be delegated by the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Training sessions are held throughout the year. Those interested are required to be in good standing with their Catholic faith and need to get approval from the pastor to attend. Once delegated you can move into rotation for the distribution of Holy Communion in your parish at Mass or in homebound/hospital ministry. The EMHC coordinator will assist you in scheduling your Mass participation. And if interested home bound and/or hospital ministries. Periodically Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion require re-delegation. Look for announcements at Mass or in the Bulletin for training sessions.
Liturgical Ministers Mass Schedule -
HomeboundOur intent is to make the Sacraments available to all Catholics who would like to receive, but are unable to attend Mass due to injury, illness, advanced age, or circumstance. We distribute the Body of Christ to Our Lady of the Lake parishioners who are homebound and unable to attend Mass. Our visits include a communion service, prayer, reading the Word, delivering a brief reflection, providing a church bulletin and spending quality time with those parishioners who are unable to leave their homes. HOMEBOUND RESOURCES -
Commentators/Lectors
Commentators assist the presider in providing direction during the celebration of the Mass. Lectors take part in the entrance procession with the presider and proclaim the first and second readings. Archdiocesan training is required for participation in these ministries. Any adult Catholic in good standing is eligible. Check the bulletin or website for scheduled class times. Schedules are posted bi-monthly to coordinate commentators/lectors schedules.

Liturgical CoordinatorsOur role is to coordinate all ministries involved in presenting Mass. Candidates must be able to be familiar with all the aspects of the Mass from “set-up” to assisting during Mass and “clean-up” after the Mass. They assist /direct altar servers in their roles of the Mass. Candidates require parish training. If you are interested please contact the Liturgical Coordinator Director.

UshersThe Ushers at Our Lady of the Lake are greeters and first impressions that every parishioner and guest encounter at each Mass. We are a visible instrument at every weekend Mass, Holy Days of Obligation and special events. Our responsibilities include locating seats for Mass attendees, passing collection baskets and inspiring a couple or family to carry the offertory. Any OLL parishioner is welcome to volunteer for this extremely valuable ministry. Please use the contact information in the bulletin, here on the website or discuss with one of the ushers at any Mass to obtain more information and hear about this exciting and vital ministry.
