The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 27.
What is RCIA?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults is an opportunity for those who have an interest in the Catholic faith to come and discover the truths and teachings of the Church. Through the RCIA program, participants are given a period of time to study, pray and reflect on the teachings of the Catholic Church. Through this journey each participant makes a commitment one step at a time leading up to the Easter Vigil where the Sacraments of Initiation are received. This ancient Rite has been passed on from the early Church when the first Christians were received into the faith.
The RCIA program is for adults who wish to receive the Sacrament of Baptism, an adult baptized in another Christian Faith but is interested in becoming Catholic, or an adult who is baptized Catholic and wishes to receive the Sacraments of First Communion and/or Confirmation.
What is RCIC?
The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children is a program designed for children whose parents wish for them to enter the Catholic Church. This program is for children ages 7 to 17 who have not been baptized, or were baptized in another Christian denomination. The program will be completed at the Easter Vigil where the Sacraments of Initiation are received.
