 Prayer Ministries

Adoration Chapel
Karen Seiler - 845-3867
Our Lady of the Lake’s chapel is a 24 hour perpetual chapel. The chapel was originally a shrine built outside the church in 1922 then enclosed in 1991 when it became a perpetual chapel. It provides the opportunity for prayer and meditation in the quiet of the small sanctuary. Volunteers staff the chapel.

Charismatic Prayer Group
Lisa Rapier – 674-0557
This group meets every Wednesday night in the church. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a movement of God’s Holy Spirit in the church today. Catholics at OLL and around the world are experiencing the outpouring of God’s power, His loving presence, and the manifestation of the charismatic gifts that contribute to the building of the body of Christ, the Church.

Divine Mercy Sunday

Becky Russell – 624-5444
Pope John Paul II has willed that the Second Sunday of Easter be dedicated to recalling with special devotion God’s gifts of mercy and grace, and Our Lady of the Lake celebrates it with a special service.  Leading up to Divine Mercy Sunday, there is a novena held starting on Good Friday, where the Divine Mercy chaplet is recited.

Holy Spirit Novena
Lisa Rapier – 674-0557
Each year, the week before Pentecost, this ministry provides praise and worship nightly which includes Mass and a speaker.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit are the basis of each evening’s service.

Legion of Mary
Maggie Beckett – 845-3788
This ministry’s objective is the glory of God through the holiness of its members.  This group meets weekly, leads the rosary at the Pontchartrain Guest House, and visits those that are homebound.

Men’s Spiritual Roundtable
Steve Nuccio - 674-2634
The Men’s Spiritual Roundtable (MSR) is for men interested in growing in their Catholic spirituality.  Topics relevant to men’s spirituality are introduced and discussed weekly.  MSR  meets every Thursday night from 7:30 - 8:30pm.

Third Order of Mt. Carmel
Amy Morales – 845-4911
Directed toward women, they center on prayer and attempt to emulate Mary who placed her faith in God’s will.  Each member defines her own response to this call, such as, daily prayer, wearing the Brown Scapular and frequent participation in the Liturgy.
