Lectors & Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist

Extraordinary Ministers of Eucharist, or EM’s, serve our parish family on a weekly basis by distributing the most precious gift our church has during Mass, the Body and Blood of Christ. The members of this ministry are committed to serve at a particular mass on the weekends. Training is required to become an EM for our parish. Mrs. Susan Loveland coordinates the scheduling of our EM’s in a three month block format.

Lectors and Commentators aid in the flow of the liturgy by reading the announcements, readings and petitions. These volunteers are also committed to a particular mass time and training is required. Mr. Jeff Harris coordinated the scheduling of all Lectors and Commentators for weekend masses.

RE-DELEGATION IFNO FOR ALL CURRENT EM’s:

All current Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion must be re-delegated.  The Archdiocese has sent us a DVD that all EM’s must view in order to continue their service to this parish, the homebound or those in the hospital. 

You must attend one of the following re-delegation dates to remain active:

Thursday, October 23, 2008 7:00pm - 9:30pm in the Chotin Center
Saturday, October 25, 2008 8:30am - 11:00am in the Chotin Center

We will have everyone sign in, view the video, and cover a few administrative topics.  Then we will break into two groups: Church EM’s and Chotin Center EM’s. The captains of each mass will review the practical aspects of serving. This training will re-delegate you until 2013 for Our Lady of the Lake Church.

Were you on the EM schedule and had to be taken off due to schedules? Do you want to serve as an EM at the mass you attend on the weekends with your family? Come and join our ministry!!
