Hurricane Preparation

As we are all aware, each summer we prepare for hurricane season.  Since we live in a locale where these types of natural disasters are a reality, we must always be looking forward to prepare for any future challenges.  Our response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 in this parish was extremely gratifying.  Due to the efforts of parishioners and staff, we were able to offer masses within a week after the hurricane and resume classes at school within one month.

In an attempt to continuously improve in all aspects of our parish, in May of 2006 I asked the parish staff and leadership to assist me in formulating a hurricane preparedness plan.  They worked diligently in groups and developed a plan.  We have since secured the necessary information and resources to assure its implementation.  Please take a moment to review the highlights of the plan and if possible to thank the OLL parish leadership and staff for their thoughtful efforts on behalf of our parish.
