Welcome to Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church. Our Lady of the Lake was founded in 1850, before the Civil War, by the Benedictine Community of St. Joseph’s Abbey in Covington, LA.
Today our parish is staffed by priests of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. We have grown into the largest parish of the state with over 17,000 parishioners and 5,600 families. We are located in Mandeville, two blocks north of Lake Pontchartrain.
Our nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence is populated with 820 children from Pre-K 3 through the 7th grade and is located on our beautiful parish campus.
As a community of believers, we entrust ourselves to the patronage of Our Lady, Help of Christians, and emulate the Spirit of St. John Bosco in educating our youth in their faith. We promote the Holy Eucharist and reverence our Blessed Mother, the two pillars of our Catholic Heritage. We host a vibrant youth program, and numerous other ministries. There truly is something here for everyone.
Come and worship with us. I promise you, you won’t regret it.
In Christ,
Fr. John Talamo, Pastor
